Fortnightly Sales

We conduct fortnightly auctions on Tuesdays and Wednesday at our auction rooms, located at:

433 Bridge Road, Richmond, Victoria 3121 AUSTRALIA
Viewing for these sales are:
Saturday 10.00 AM - 1:00 PM
Monday 9.00 AM - 5:00 PM

The catalogue and selected photographs will be on our web page from 5.00 pm the Friday prior to the auction.

How to bid?
1. Bidding online
Enables you to bid during our live streamed auctions.

Sign up and receive your online bidding number. It is permanent for all future auctions.

To sign up, please press the "SIGN UP" button at the top right corner of the Bidsonline screen accessed via this website.

2. PRE-BIDDING
Pre-bidding is a mini-auction before the live auction commences. Once you have logged in you can commence bidding for an item in your own time. The highest pre-bid amount is where the live auction will start from for that item. If no further bids are received during the live auction you will be the winning bidder.

3. Absentee Bids
If you are unable to attend the auction, our experienced staff will bid on your behalf. There is no charge for this service. Lots will be purchased at the best possible hammer price, subject to other bids and reserve prices.

4. Telephone Bidding
Complimentary telephone bidding may be arranged on any item. An experienced member of staff will telephone you during the auction, a few lots in advance to enable your bid to be made.

5. In Person
Please watch and join in during the auction at 433 Bridge Road, Richmond VIC. The auction rooms will be open from 9 am on Auction Days.

Special Sales

E J Ainger Pty Ltd holds Special Sale Auctions throughout the year.
Special Sales are held quarterly on a Sunday to enable private and interstate collectors to view and attend the auction.

Importantly for these major auctions we have eight days of viewing, which include two Saturdays prior to auction; thereby giving each item the maximum exposure. For these auctions all items are profesionally photographed and described in detail on our online catalogue.

We have conducted some of the most successful house content auctions held in Melbourne over the past 30 years. Please refer to Featured Previous Sales for a few examples.

Jewellery Sales

If you have any items of jewellery you are looking to sell, we can provide no obligation, free appraisals and valuations on any jewellery items so contact us now.

To consign any jewellery items or for a no-obligation appraisal and valuation, contact our specialist jewellery consultant, Robert Haigh on 0422 650 139. you can arrange to bring your items to our Richmond auction rooms for assessment or Robert can come to you.

JEWELLERY AUCTIONS

We now have a select number of affordable and quality jewellery items included in each of our regular fortnightly auctions. So if you are in the market for quality jewellery, don't miss our regular Tuesday fortnightly auctions.

In addition to our regular fortnightly auctions, we hold a specialist fine jewellery auction on a quarterly basis, featuring a wide range and diverse collection of high quality jewellery.

Selling at Auction

We receive items on Thursday, Friday, Monday and Tuesday prior to the next Fortnightly auction.
Hours 8.30 am to 4.30 pm.

Alternatively please telephone the office to arrange delivery days.
All items are reviewed so that they can be allocated to one of our Special Sales or to a particular Fortnightly Auction to gain the best result.

Estimates
Our valuers are able to provide a pre-sale estimate for items submitted for sale.

Sellers' Commission
Our Selling commission is 20% plus GST. There is a Lotting Fee of $6 applicable to every lot photographed and placed online.

Cartage
We can recommend independent carriers who are honest, reliable and experienced in the cartage of precious antiques and furniture. The carrier can be paid directly or EJ Ainger Pty Ltd can pay the cartage on your behalf and deduct this cost from the sale of your item.

All items MUST be removed from the Auction Rooms by Friday midday - items may not be taken until paid in full. All lots purchased can be collected by a courier during opening hours ( Monday to Friday 9 am – 4.30 pm ) after payments have cleared. All payments and pick-ups are to be made within three business days. 

4. Unless otherwise notified payment in full may by made by CASH, CHEQUE, BANKCARD, MASTERCARD or VISA only.

5. E J Ainger accepts no responsibility for your actions in bidding, pressing an incorrect button, bidding the wrong amount or on an incorrect item. All payments and pick-ups are to be made within three business days.
